Eve Says Lil Kim Needs to Stop Beefin with Nicki Minaj

eve

by: PatriceJohnson, Your Black World

Eve talks about Lil’ Kim & Nicki Minaj Beef…

After all of the success that Eve has earned and much more success to come on her new album, she has no reason to hate on or have beef with the next big female artist.

Just today in an interview, Eve spoke on the matters between rappers, Lil’ Kim and Nicki Minaj.  Eve claims that it's not a good look for Lil' Kim to beef with Nicki.  As far as Eve is concerned, she is glad that more women are embracing Hip-Hop and Nicki Minaj is definitely a woman that can hold her own in this game.

I totally agree with what Eve was trying to say.  She was basically saying that women need to stop hating on each other and just do themselves… Don’t try to be like Nicki Minaj, Lil’ Kim, Queen Latifah, Foxie Brown, MC Lyte, Remi Ma, Diamond, Trina or Keys… Just be you, rap in your own way and make it as fresh as you can… BUT always accept others for what they do as well.

It is so good to see a woman who is openly embracing other women in the Hip-Hop industry, she is allowing room for more than one female rapper at the top and that is what sister hood should be all about…

PatriceJohnson: A Deeper Look at the Relationship Between Rapper Cory Gunz and His Father

cory gunz and peter gunz

by: PatriceJohnson, Your Black World

Cory Gunz (23 years old) standing next to his father, Peter Gunz (early 40’s)

After watching the reality T.V. show “Son of a Gun” there were 5 things that I noticed right off the bat:

1.) Cory Gunz is a talent that is so unique and raw. He is an amazing rapper, and it would take a very special person to even be able to get close to where his talent level is.

2.) Nick Cannon and Cory have a great relationship that is not seen in a lot of the music industry. Nick Cannon does not seem like the type of man that just wants to take his cut of Cory’s money and run away, he cares about Cory’s well-being and that is what all managers should be about.

EL DORADO HILLS, Calif. (AP) — Time has weathered the 36 concrete gravestones in a dusty, half-century-old cemetery tucked away in a corner of California’s former gold fields. Time has not erased, however, the bigotry of a bygone era carved into the markers.

Is Being Black and Rich a Crime?

Your Black World reports

Chris Johnson of the Tennessee Titans found himself in the center of police attention recently when an anonymous citizen called the police to report “high-end cars” coming into and out of Johnson’s complex.  The police suspected drug activity, so they went to the house to investigate.  The Orlando Police quickly realized that there was nothing illegal happening at Johnson’s house, so they left.

Johnson then sent this note out onto Twitter:

“Y did the police just walk in my condo saying they think it’s drug activity because it’s alot of traffic but it was the MTV camera crew.” He then added, “Hard being young, black and rich.”

Ice-T Expresses Objections to Soulja Boy Playing Tupac in Juice Remake

Brook Griffin, Your Black World

It seems that the rapper Ice-T has a serious problem with Soulja Boy being chosen to remake the film “Juice.”  The original filmed starred the late Tupac Shakur, who gave an unforgettable performance.  During an interview on Shade 45 Satellite Radio, Ice-T had this to say:

“At some point somebody gotta stop it, I came out I made some statements….maaan, I don't know. Do you dude, do you. If the masses accept it, it shows you the state we're in[…] Come on man, you think I'd try to remake Pac's movie?”

Russell Simmons’ Open Letter to President Obama: Don’t Forget Our Plight

Your Black World Reports

I listened to your speech last week at Rev. Al Sharpton's National Action Network's 20th anniversary dinner, talking among friends and close supporters. This was an annual African American dinner, a very important one. While I know that any Democrat would have fulfilled their promise to come back if they had won the '08 election, I also know the significance, and the special burden it poses on you, as the first African American President, at the same time.

Still, I woke up the next day feeling uneasy, not because you didn't take issues of direct significance to the black community head-on -- like the fact that one in three black children go to jail once in their lifetime or that black people have an unemployment rate double the amount of white people -- but because nowhere in your deep and thoughtful remarks did you talk about the elephant in the room that affects ALL Americans, irrespective of color: the growing ranks of poor Americans, Americans struggling not just to meet their mortgage payments but to eat, sleep under a roof, educate their kids and pay their basic bills.

Accused NFL Star Albert Haynesworth: “I Don’t Even Like Black Girls”

by Dr. Boyce Watkins, YourBlackWorld.comScholarship in Action

It looks like Washington Redskins star Albert Haynesworth is having even more problems beyond the ones that led to the Redskins taking him off the field.  Haynesworth has been accused of fondling a young waitress at the W Hotel.  The government offered him a plea bargain, but he’s not taking it.

The prosecution sent a letter to Haynesworth’s attorneys offering to drop the sexual abuse charge against Haynesworth if he would agree to plead guilty to one count of simple sexual assault.  His attorneys have turned down the offer and said they look forward to their day in court.
